The success of the Do-Organ evoked a desire among carillonneurs to develop a similar kit for a carillon. Orgelkids helped get this project up and running with advice and funding (through the Lydia Vroegindeweij Fund). On April 25, 2022, the prototype of the Do-Carillon was presented at the annual meeting of the Royal Dutch Carillon Society (KNKV).
The concept is similar to the Do-Organ. Again, children have to sort and assemble parts in the frame. They have to connect the keys to the bells. The decoration of the tower, including a rooster, is the finishing touch. And of course you can really make music on this instrument too.
Bell foundry
The Do-Carillon bells were cast in the traditional manner at a monastery in Spain and then tuned by Gideon Bodden. They feature children’s drawings.
