David and Goliath

“David and Goliath” by Tom Schmutzler, a musical fantasy for a large organ and the little Orgel Kids organ.

Goliath is a character in the Hebrew Bible, in the Book of Samuel, described as a Philistine giant defeated by the young shepherd boy David in a single combat. (See: 1 Samuel 17:31-54)

The phrase “David and Goliath” has taken on a more popular meaning denoting an underdog situation, a contest wherein a smaller, weaker opponent faces a much bigger, stronger adversary.
