Organ building in class

Stichting Stadsmuziek Rijssen (NL) owns a Do-organ. Primary schools can invite an organist for a one-hour lesson, often in group 5 or 6 (8-10 years old children). In one lesson, the group builds a mini-organ, which can also be played at the end of the lesson. In this way, the children learn how the organ works: they put it together themselves. A fun project, which we have already carried out in many schools. The pupils are always very enthusiastic. As a follow-up, a visit to a real church organ can be organised if necessary.

This video impression was made by mister Harbers, teacher at the Brekeldschool, during a visit in February 2023.
